Underfloor heating Insulation

All our underfloor heating systems work more efficiently with the correct insulation. Even if not installing underfloor heating in many cases insulation boards can be used as a waterproof replacement for plywood and other materials.

Insulation is very important and should be considered an essential part of your complete underfloor heating system. If the sub floor you intend to install your system onto is uninsulated  beneath then the system may be slow to react.

It will be necessary to install insulation beneath the heating system to ensure quick heat up times and to lower running costs.

Underfloor Heating Direct  offer a wide variety of effective underfloor heating insulation boards to ensure you have the correct insulation beneath your heated floor.

Please note that our underwood heating systems must have either XPS Premium or XPS Standard board installed on the sub floor first - these boards also act as the underlay for your wooden floors
